Some highlights of my* route to Baja California Sur. I drove to San Francisco on Friday night, stopping to take this photo before crossing the bridge... and Saturday afternoon, I’ve landed in San Jose del Cabo, and travel about 80 miles Northeast to Los Barriles on the Sea of Cortez near Baja California’s southern extreme... then a few more miles down pavement and dirt to the tiny pueblo of El Cardonal, BCS.
*I’m David Smith and I went to the visit Urmas Kaldveer who is studying and photo-identifying the Humpback whales who return to this region to mate.
